Together, moving into a bright future.
Envisioning a new, traditional Wesleyan denomination
What We Believe…
Mississippi Methodism. Envisioning a traditional and orthodox future for Methodism in Mississippi.
+ We are traditionally orthodox, Wesleyan, and Methodist.
+ We affirm Scripture as the primary source and authority for Christian doctrine, the true rule and guide for faith and practice.
+ We desire for the Mississippi Conference to emerge intact from the separation drama.
+ We desire for Mississippi Methodism to include all who will faithfully live in covenant together regarding our doctrine, our polity, and our shared ministry.
+ We desire for Mississippi Methodism to be broader than the WCA, include all traditionally orthodox individuals and congregations who will covenant together in ministry.
+ We are dedicated to being hospitable and welcoming to all.
+ We are devoted to respecting and reflecting the rich ethnic diversity of our state and our Conference.
+ We wholeheartedly affirm the equal role of women and men in ministry and in church leadership.
+ We affirm the Church’s historical orthodox understandings of sexuality and marriage.
+ We want to be connected with like-minded, common-ground Methodists—locally, regionally, and globally.
+ We commit be a socially redemptive, culturally transforming expression of the Gospel.
+ We highly value our local pastors, rural congregations, and small membership churches.
+ We commit to be gracious to churches, laypersons, and clergypersons who pursue a different vision.
